An Elna Grasshopper. Didn’t even know these existed until this blog post by Petite Republic popped into my reader. Hello, cutie!
Not fancy at all with probably just a couple stitches, but it’s so small that this would be the perfect portable. The more I’m reading about this machine, the more I like it. It comes with a hardcase that folds out and becomes an extension table and it has a knee controller instead of the usual foot pedal. It was in production from 1940-1952 and was the first of its kind–compact, quiet, knee-controlled, and electric.
If I actually had a need for this, I’d seriously consider hunting one down! It looks like so much fun and from what I hear it’s a dream to use!
