Giveaway :: Personalized Fabric Book Cover

Giveaway closed! Winners have been announced!

Ok – this giveaway is a belated celebration of my first year bloggiversary!  I really wanted to do one then, but ended up not having enough time/energy/creativity to put one together in time.

Now that life has slowed down a bit, I have prepared a fun, personalized giveaway!

I’m going to sew for you a book cover–made to your specified measurements to hold your favorite book and with your initials carefully hand-embroidered on the front.

I had so much fun making my friend Heather one for her birthday that I wanted to make another one. Which makes for a perfect chance for a giveaway!

Your’s will not be quite the same as Heather’s as I want to keep her’s unique and special, but I will still be using Mai’s tutorial to sew it up so the basic design will be the same.

Giveaway closed!  Winners have been announced!

To enter:  Leave a comment below answering this question…

“What is your favorite book and why?”

A winner will be chosen at random after 10:00pm PST on Thursday, February 25th and announced on Friday the 26th Sunday, February 28th and announced on Monday!  International entries are welcome.

Please be sure to enter your email address in the comment form (it will be hidden and only I will see it), so I can contact you by email to discuss the particulars (measurements, initials, fabric preferences, etc.) of your book cover!

Also, keep in mind that this book cover doesn’t have to be for you.  If you win, you can request someone else’s initials and give it them instead!  Wouldn’t that be a fun surprise? :)

Good luck!

  1. Came by way of my sister Megans’ blog! This is a really cute book cover!

One of my favorite books is “The Time Travelers Wife.” It’s such a unique story but so sad! I still can’t bring myself to watch the movie.

  2. My fave books are the Harry Potter series (among many, but I just wanted to choose one…or uh, seven!) I adore the inventive, lively characters!

Thanks for the giveaway! Adorable book cover!

  3. Love the Art Nouveau inspired hand-embroidering. My two French great-grandmothers’ sheets used to have initials like that (well different initials actually, but you know what I mean!). It was their ‘trousseau’ which they would have been given upon getting married. Doesn’t it take forever to do? The Echino fabric is lovely too. Your friend must have been thrilled!

    Happy bloggiversary!

  4. My favorite book is ‘Til We Have Faces’ by C.S. Lewis. It is an intensely amazing work portraying the general folly and tumbling of a selfish human existence. Lewis contrasts such with the painful beauty of justice and sacrifice. It is the only fictional book I’ve ever read that clearly grasps and describes real love vs. false infatuation. I realized after reading said book, that I have lived with mostly the latter, and must continue to pray for the former.

Erin, these book covers rock! Pick me! Pick me!

  5. I have a Moleskine sketchbook that really needs cover. So pick me! ;)
My favorite book of all time would probably be Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger. I read it as a teen and was really impacted by it, more so than Catcher in the Rye. I really love the characters and the themes–individualism/conformity, religion, and that special relationship between siblings.

  6. oooh! I love this giveaway! I would love to have something pretty to put over my books :)

  7. My favorite book is “Three cups of tea” by Gerg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. It is a real story of Greg Mortenson on his remarkable humanitarian campaign in the Taliban. The books remind me how blessed I am and how an ordinary person can contribute and make a difference to the world.

  8. My favourite book is called “Midsummer’s Magic: A Garland of Charms, Stories, and Tales.” I first read it at the library when i was in grade six, and somehow came back to it by accident every year. One year I opened it up and found the grass clippings that had slipped in the summer before while I was reading it in the yard.

A few years ago my ex-boyfriend bought it for me for Xmas and wrote a (sort-of) lovely passage on the inside cover about how he doesn’t know if we’ll last forever (?!) but he thinks I’m swell and even though he’s not sure I’m the one (seriously!?) that I have made him a better person.

It’d be nice to have something to cover up that wee passage that now permanently marks my favourite book.

    Sigh…..

Anyway, no matter who gets it, I know they will love it AND congratulations on your blogiversary!

  9. Oh so cute! My favorite book is probably “Blue Like Jazz” by Donald Miller. It’s an excellent read! Love your embroidery detail, it is stunning!

  10. Hi Erin,

What a beautiful book cover! Please include me in the drawing!

So what’s my favorite book? I don’t know if this is a good question for me because I could go on and on about the subject–I have so many to include. :) But after seriously thinking it over I guess it would have to be “A Lantern in Her Hand.” It is about a girl growing up in the prairie lands of the US (in the 1880s I believe) and settling down with her husband in Nebraska. And for most of her life she dreams about a singing career and writing a book but because of raising her children and running her farm, she never seems able to make her dreams a reality. But she does, in a very unexpected way.

I like this book among all the other books I read, because I can relate to a farm girl (I live on a farm) and I love that it is based on a real woman’s life.

  11. Can I enter too?! I want a cover for my Bible :-)
Ooh, too many favorite books to choose from. The one I’m reading right now is very intriguing, called “Finding Nouf”. I picked it up off the new shelf at the library last week and got pulled right in. It’s a murder mystery set in modern-day Saudi Arabia
